The LED plant lamp is a phyto-lamp for growing seedlings, greenhouse and indoor plants, as well as for illuminating aquariums and terrariums. The lamp compensates for the lack of daylight and stimulates the active growth of shoots.
LED phytolamps also provide the wavelengths most demanded by plants, namely:
-spectrum with a wavelength of 450-460 nm - blue;
-spectrum with a wavelength of 625-630 nm - red.
For additional illumination of plants growing near the window, a power of 40 W per 1 m2 is sufficient. If the plants are away from the window, it is worth choosing lamps at the rate of 60 W of power per 1 m2.
It is important to consider that the greater the distance from the lamp to the plant, the lower the light intensity. By doubling the distance, the power will be reduced by a factor of four. The use of reflectors will help to neutralize this effect.
The optimal height of the lamp is about 30 cm from the top of the plant (20 cm is enough for greens and salad). The minimum allowable distance is 10 cm, and the effectiveness of devices more than half a meter apart is noticeably reduced. The exact distance is chosen depending on the type of crop and lamp power. It should be borne in mind that the plant grows upwards, and the lamp will have to be raised, so a margin is required.
