Sonoff's new MINIR4M is a Matter smart home standard compliant mini Wi-Fi smart switch that turns traditional switches into smart switches. You can use it to remotely control and automate lights and electronic devices, and thanks to its small size (only 33 x 40 mm), it fits into a variety of mounting boxes, including the smallest EU-type/86 type/120 type mounting boxes.
Sonoff MINI R4M, also called Sonoff Mini Extreme R4 Matter version, supports external switch control and can be easily connected with a momentary switch, door exit switch, SPDT switch, latch switch, and even dry contact sensors, just like the previous version Sonoff Mini R2 or Mini R4 product version.
As a new feature, the MINI R4M also has a “decouple relay” mode, which means that the states of the external switches and the relay are decoupled, so the operation of the external switch button will not affect the state of the relay. Even then, you can use an external switch to activate a smart scene and operate another device, group of devices, or automation.
The Mini R4M is a Matter-compatible version of the product that supports Bluetooth pairing. It can work with the eWeLink app (like the MINIR4 product version) or can be connected to a local Matter-compatible hub and run in a local home automation system without a cloud connection. Thanks to Matter's standard support, it's compatible with Google Home, Alexa, and Apple Home.
